About
Garden Club – Empowering children to grow their own produce.
10s+ – Tuesdays 4pm-5.30pm
5-10+ Thursdays 4pm-5.30pm
Garden Club is available for either Weekly or Fortnightly sessions and runs alongside the school terms. Mid-term enrolments are welcome.
We have structured the therapy group around the permaculture principals as it connects growers to each other, local microclimates/nature reserves and a broader social community. This will encourage clients into finding their state of flow, grow and flourish. Not only does Permaculture teach the life cycle of plants but challenges you to think about the lifecycle of other daily resources and look at the world through a broader scope. Our aim is to teach the kids how we can be kinder to ourselves, each other, and the earth.
Garden Club is hosted in a Community Garden in the Pialligo/Majura area.
Gardening and social groups are key activities for supporting wellbeing and this group will develop;
1.     Fine and gross motor skills,
2.     Problems solving,
3.     Resilience/distress tolerance,
4.     Patience,
5.     Managing sensory experiences,
6.     Planning, multitasking and big picture management,
7.     Collaboration skills
8.     And a connection to self, others, and land.
